CODAS 2024 is our latest platform release, bringing new features, infrastructure updates, and forward-looking improvements across both CODAS 6 (Desktop) and CODAS 7 (Web).
Whether you’re continuing with CODAS 6 (Desktop) or beginning to explore CODAS 7 (Web), this release supports your operation today and makes future transitions simpler.
This article outlines the key changes, new functionality, and what you can expect next.
Version Numbers Are Changing
Yes. CODAS has traditionally used a version numbering system beginning with “6” for CODAS 6. As the platform continues to evolve, we’ve introduced a new numbering system that reflects the way we now develop and release updates. Here’s what’s new:
We’re introducing a new versioning format:
2024.x.y
2024 refers to the year of the major release (which includes a database upgrade)
x is for updates that require client updates
y covers server-only or maintenance updates
This new approach makes version numbers clearer and update planning more straightforward, saving your team time and effort.
CODAS 2024 is the first step in this transition. It brings together both CODAS 6 (Desktop) and CODAS 7 (Web) in a single deployment, setting the foundation for a smoother switch to web when the time is right.
